As a matter of fact, when compression technology came along, we thought the future in 1996 was about voice. We got it wrong. It is about voice, video, and data, and that is what we have today on these cell phones.
The blog is mightier...
If I am to ask for one thing right now, I would like to ask for time. Time to be myself, time to remember who I am, and to enjoy the day from sunrise to sunset.
A picture is worth a thousand words - but only those to describe the picture. Hardly any sets of a thousand words can be adequately described with pictures.
I’ve probably received the greatest compliment possible from my peers… fellow musicians who refer to me as a singer/songwriter. That’s a title that tends to raise the one who bears its name above the tagging of a musical genre. If you’ve got to put me into a genre, I’ve had someone call me California Country/Folk Twang, which if I’m sure of anything, it’s an interesting blend of styles. You know, I’ve had others who say at any given time I remind them of everyone from Dylan, Prine, and Cale, to Gerry Rafferty, Collective Soul and Pink Floyd. So obviously, music is defined in the minds of those listening. Is it folk? Is it country? The listeners will make that call. And when enough of them agree, then I’m sure we have a general consensus.
